The employees at Greenway Transportation Services, Inc would like to thank our customer and carrier base for helping us qualify for INC magazine for four years straight.  We are listed as being in the fastest growing companies in the United States.  This award is due to our customers and carriers entrusting Greenway with their business.  For that we thank you and we will continue to  work hard to maintain this distinguished award.

Are You Going To Get Paid?

In this econcomy you should know who you are working with.  There are many good brokerage firms to work with.  Obviously you should be looking at the ratings on a new customer.  Greenway Transportation Services, Inc. has been in business for 29 years and maintains a “100″ rating in the Transportation Industry.  We pay our carriers in 15 days and have for multiple decades.  This is how we maintain our rating.  If you have not used our services we would appreciate you contacting us and giving us a try.

We have offices in three states, Arizona, Washington and Ohio.  We cover refrigerated, dry van, flatbed, intermodal (Container and TOFC) and airfreight.  All this and we do FTL and LTL in all modes of tranportation.  Please try the professionals at Greenway.  We value our relationships with both our carriers and shippers.  You will not be disappointed.

Is Your Truck Eating You Alive? Keep your foot out of it!

Fuel is the great unknown in the transportation business.  As part of your “per mile” cost to operate your truck consider the following: If fuel is costing you $3.80 per gallon and your truck is averaging 5.5 MPG your fuel cost is .69 per mile.  If you keep your foot out of the accelerator or lower your highway speed and can increase your mileage to 5.9 MPG your cost drops to .644 per mile.  If you are averaging 100,000 miles per year the cost difference is a savings of $4,682.  This is not chump change.  If you are operating a refrigerator trailer ask if your load needs to be set at a continuous temperature or if the unit can be set at cycle.  This is another savings.  Alwayscheck your tire pressures.  Proper inflation keeps your rolling resistance as low as possible.  The employees at Greenway Transportation Services want to see our carriers make a profit on their loads.

To our carriers and customers, thank you for entrusting us with your goods and services.

Regards, Craig   (Romans 4:3-5)

Fuel and Freight

At this writting fuel is approaching .47 per mile.  This obviousley puts pressure on your freight supplier to adjust rates upward to compensate for increased operating costs.  The employees at Greenway Transportation Services are constantly trying to adjust rates to insure that our carriers are profitable.  We always pay our carriers in a timely fashion.   We also work to insure that our shippers are getting equitable rates for the services we provide. Our goal is to be a permanent part of our carriers and shippers freight solutions.  With nearly thirty years of serving the transportation industry, Greenway has  an established shipper and carrier base.  We cover the Continental U.S and Canada in all modes of transportation.  To our existing carriers and shippers we say “Thank You” for entrusting us with your business.  If you have not used our services in the past we would appreciate you considering our company.  You will not be disappointed!.

Regards,

Craig Skillicorn

A New Year-A New Direction

As we enter 2011 we at Greenway are of the opinion that the FTL/LTL has stabilized.  During 2010, shippers were getting accustomed to the nationwide shortage of carriers.  The new year should see stabilized rates for shippers and carriers.  The only variable we see is the cost of diesel fuel which may increase due to inflation.  As usual the employees at Greenway will do their best to find equitable rates for our shippers and carriers.  This truly is a partnership.  As the freight industry moves in a new direction for 2011 we want to wish all a wonderful Christmas and prosperous New Years.

Best regards,

Craig Skillicorn

CSA 2010

As the new year approaches CSA 2010 will be implemented. The new rules will require carriers to meet seven basic safety measures.  Many people in the transportation industry believe that the available carriers required to transport goods are going to tighten considerably due to some carriers not being able to meet the requirements.  This will require many carriers to modify equipment and the amount of time required for reporting .    All of this costs money.  The employees at Greenway Transportation Services, Inc. are committed to offering our carriers  the highest paying freight with the least exposure to claims that we can.  We pay our carriers within fifteen days of receipt of your freight invoice with clean bills.  We also have our Accounts Receivable insured to put our carrier base at ease in a very tense economy.  Thanks for your business.

A NEW ERA

As we enter the fall shipping/holiday season we are finally starting to see some stabilization in the carrier market.  Anybody who has been in this industry for any lenght of time will recogonize that the last twenty-four months has been probably the most stressful in the history of the freight industry.  With the new CARB rules,  the CSA issues and fuel it has been a very interesting time.  Both the FTL and LTL segments of the industry have been effected.  We are truly entering a new era in transportation.  In this process there has been a thinning out of the entire freight industry.  Greenway is seeing  stabilization in freight rates and the industry is buying trucks and hiring drivers.  If you are a driver looking for a good company to work with we can make some recommendations of good carriers that we have worked with for years.

On another topic Greenway is thinking about starting a blog for drivers that would help them organize their receipts and business expenses for tax purposes.  Many of the carriers that Greenway Transportation Services, Inc. utilize are small business owners that are not familiar with I.R.S. rules and regulations.  Our CFO, Marsha Skillicorn, is a CPA.  She would write a blog that would address many of the issues you will face as a small business owner.  If you respond with questions, she will do her best to answer them in a timely manner.  The questions you ask will probably be in common with other carriers.  If this sounds like something you could use please respond to this blog.

As usual,  the employees here at Greenway appreciate our carrier base and the issues you face running equipment. In response to the cash flow that carriers face we pay our freight invoices in fifteen days from time of clean receipts.  We also post our available freight on our website and have sections in our website that give you the driver information in a timely fashion. this informantion includes trucks stops, CAT scales, truck and trailer repair locations and other information that is pertinent to the transportation industry.  Please give us ideas to improve our website.

Welcome to our new look.  We would appreciate feedback from you, our customers, as to any enhancements you would like to see.

As you are aware the freight industry has gone through more changes in the last twenty-four months than it has in the last ten years.  Carriers are approaching full capacity and shippers are stuggling to meet their receivers delivery deadlines.  As a 3PL with three decades of experience Greenway Transportation Services, Inc. strives to meet the requirements of our shippers and carriers with freight rates that are equitable for both parties.   Greeway has maintained a “100″ rating with TransCredit. We pay our freight bills in fifteen days and maintain accounts receivable insurance.  Please consider our services.  Please do not hesitate to call for a quote on your freight needs.
